The Gonzaga Football team
SPOKANE, WA – The 35 members of the Gonzaga University football team are up in arms after people denying their existence.
“There’s some sort of rumor going around that the football program was discontinued,” said starting halfback Lance Spencer, “But we have no idea where that came from. We’ve been playing for years.”
The team practices on Jundt field, where their home games are also held. Seemingly, nobody has noticed. It’s been assumed that residents of the Dussault apartments pegged the team for an intramural squad, despite the fact that they have matching uniforms, a mascot, and full pads.
“It’s really disappointing,” said Spencer, “I love our basketball as much as the next guy, but it’s frustrating when nobody recognizes your accomplishments.”
The team, which consistently receives top 25 players, went 11-1 this past season, including a recent 28-27 win over local powerhouse Spokane Falls Community College.
